Are you also a candidate?
In addition to all the hectic and concerns surrounding the current collective labor agreement negotiations, we also ask your attention for the following. The elections for the new works council at KLM will take place from 9 to 23 April 2025. You may have already thought about applying for the new Works Council. Did you know that you can also apply on behalf of De Unie?
Why a Works Council member?
Through the Works Council, employees have a say in the day-to-day affairs. The Works Council has the right to issue advice on matters that directly concern you and your colleagues as employees of the company. Are you unsure whether this is something for you? Then consider the following:
- Work for the Works Council is important, useful and appreciated;
- Being a member of the Works Council is a valuable experience;
- KLM in particular benefits from committed employees in the Works Council.
Works Council work can therefore also be fun, because you can influence important decisions and improve working conditions. You represent the interests of your colleagues, work together with various people and develop new skills. It offers variety, challenges and the opportunity to positively influence the company culture.
Nomination via De Unie
As a trade union, De Unie always argues for a full-fledged participation. Supporting Works Council work is an important task for us. Employee participation plays an increasingly important role in labour relations in the Netherlands, and certainly also at KLM. We want to support our members as much as possible. If you apply through De Unie, you know that you will be strengthened by the expertise of De Unie if asked.
De Unie has your back
As a trade union, we have a lot to offer you. As a member you can count on:
- Campaign assistance, such as election PR materials. Think, for example, of an appealing election poster;
- Guidance and support from De Unie, whether it concerns general matters, works council-specific matters (Works Councils Act) or legal questions. We answer every Works Council question!
And know that Works Council work is just work. That is why you are given plenty of room for this, and the work takes place during your regular working hours or the time is compensated.
