Update features heavy duty

During the recent collective labor agreement negotiations, we made agreements about a combination arrangement for employees with a heavy work job. As parties to the collective labor agreement, we have agreed to determine which positions fall under this before December 1, 2023, based on objective criteria. Unfortunately, it was not possible to reach an appointment before then. For this reason, the deadline has been moved to 1 July 2024. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet this deadline again.

Temporary finishing combination heavy work

In December, it was agreed to develop a model that can be used to objectively determine whether a job falls under the definition of ‘heavy work’. This model would take shape in a joint working group. However, it is possible to make use of the temporary finishing combination for certain functions. KLM has determined that these positions fall under aggravating circumstances. This list was communicated by KLM in December, see the temporary list here .

KLM has indicated and agreed with the unions that when the model is ready, positions can be added to this list, based on objective criteria.

The challenge

The desire from the unions is to make an objective model that is explainable and fair. Unfortunately, this has not yet been successful. The results of the draft model still exclude too many functions, without this exclusion being explainable. We will continue to discuss this subject with KLM and hope to be able to communicate about this again soon.
