As indicated earlier, yesterday, July 10, 2025, we again spoke with KLM in a multi-context about the topics of wages and duration for the new collective labor agreement. In this consultation, we indicated that KLM’s previous proposal – a one-off payment of €1,000 in 2025 and a result-related structural increase of between 0.5% and 2.5% in 2026 – is not sufficient for us. The other unions present also indicated for their own reasons that they consider KLM’s offer insufficient.
In response, KLM has announced that it is not willing to adjust the offer in terms of volume or structure. At most, the effective dates could be shifted. After some discussion, this led to the conclusion that, now that KLM is not prepared to really ‘move’, there is no point in continuing to talk in a multi-context at the moment. And that is again disappointing. Disappointing, because this means that the establishment of a new KLM Land collective labor agreement is taking even longer. And in the meantime, the ground staff are expected to pull out all the stops to ensure that the busy summer period runs smoothly and successfully.
We think postponement until after the summer is undesirable. In the context of Back on Track , there must also be clarity for employees who lose their jobs. We will therefore reconsider and commit to further consultation with all unions in the short term about the situation that has arisen. Are we waiting for a result in a multi-context, or are we also going to continue talking about wages and duration within the land domain? And what do we do with Annex 15 / the social plan? Should this remain part of the collective labor agreement (as KLM wants), or do we make separate agreements about this, separate from the collective labor agreement?
In short, we do not – and never – give up and just keep going. Our goal is and remains to get clarity as soon as possible. In doing so, we call on not only KLM, but also on all fellow unions to start talking to each other again as soon as possible – even in a formal setting.
Sincerely,
Advocate
