On Thursday 15 August, the unions spoke with KLM again. The following two topics were important: Waarwerkregeling and facilityallowance for working from home.
Heavy work scheme
We have again discussed the heavy work scheme at length. An agreement from the current collective labor agreement whereby employees in positions that have yet to be determined are given the opportunity to make use of a combination of subsidized part-time and the RVU scheme earlier.
On June 28, 2024 , we had already informed everyone about not meeting the deadline. In the meantime, we have not been idle and have made a compromise proposal to KLM. This proposal provides more opportunities for employees (no hard limit of what is or is not a strenuous profession) to make use of a number of variants of this scheme. Depending on the level of weight of the position.
So far, KLM has not responded positively to this. That is of course disappointing. But the subject continues to occupy minds. De Unie wants recognition for a broader group of employees who are ready for KLM day and night. In addition, it is important that the model is explainable for all employees who believe that they are doing heavy work. Unfortunately, we are not there yet. At KLM, we will continue to emphasise the importance of good agreements and keep members informed.
Facility allowance for working from home
KLM is unable to find a provider for the purchase of home working facilities. That is why KLM has made a proposal to compensate for the delay. KLM has proposed that for every month of delay from 1 January 2024, employees will receive 1/36th of €500, which will be added to the budget to be spent.
However, De Unie thinks this is taking far too long and has therefore additionally proposed that if there is still no solution by January 1, 2025, the amount to be spent will be increased by more than € 30 per month. An important addition to this is that KLM employees may also submit receipts from 2024, provided that this is possible from a tax-technical point of view. KLM will respond to this counter-proposal as soon as possible.
